At the beginning of this book, Erick pointed out World of mouth is different from word of mouth. Once messages are passed digitally with social media, they are unlikely to lose its original intent. Social media allows a company to face abreast of customers and to connect with them at the same time. It’s time to invest money and time on social media now! It Like Erick said there is no choice whether companies to do social media; they have a choice in how well they do it.

SEO and Social Media go hand-in-hand

SEO is extremely important to companies. Only roughly 5 percent of users go to the second page. Search Engines and social media are inextricably linked. SEO is based on relevance and authority. The best way to increase your website’s relevance is increasing the right keywords and content. What is the best tool to add keywords and contents to your website? The answer is social media! Build blog, discussion forms and community. Encourage people to leave their comments and share their stories. Authority comes from links. The best way to utilize social media for SEO purposes is to participate in the conversation. Have something to say, say it and link to it.

Social Media is the best tool to find problems
Companies have more time on solving problems than finding problems now. Effective companies never waste time on manipulating internet. They listen what people said about them and gather useful comments and information. They view social media as a useful tool to improve their product and service. They analyze people’s bad comments and try to find solutions. Bad companies view negative posts as nuisances, they spend time on scrubbing and manipulating. Guess what, customers stop posting complaints anymore. Instead, they abandon these companies completely.
