Mobile Application For Jones Soda

Our client Jones Soda can use 3 different types of mobile technology for its marketing purposes. First, is the mobile marketing via SMS/MMS, second is the location based services (LBS), linking proximity systems to customize geographical consumer tastes and thirdly, the mobile game applications. Third is the game applications. All of the mobile technology addressed is to promote easy access to the exposure of the brand through interesting interactive applications.

The mobile marketing via SMS/MMS allows the consumer to receive direct messages from the marketers to internet based devices (such as tablets and computers) or to their cell phones. It also allows the consumers to send messages and communicate with the product directly. Therefore, using SMS/MMS Jones Soda can link with other popular product brands such as pandora, itunes, amazon to gain exposure of the Jones Soda brand image in association with popular topics and brands that align well with Jones Soda image.

The location based services would provide 2 valuable marketing outcomes. First it will attract consumer interests through online interactions with the brand and second it will provide marketing data that will be categorized based on geographical demands. Through the location based services, Jones Soda can provide sales information for the consumers by showing retail locations where Jones Sodas are sold. Conversely, the customers can also communicate to the brand where he or she is located in relation to enjoying the product. For example, since Jones soda allows customers to customize the labels of the product, Jones soda can provide an application that allows the consumers to take pictures of the location where she or he is enjoying the product and send it to the brand to show where she or he is enjoying the product. Through this marketing strategy, Jones Soda can determine the consumer demand and product coverage based on geographical locations, which will help their distribution methods. In addition, by linking the proximity system, Jones Soda can allow local retailers to advertise its stores and services in relation to Jones Soda product.

Lastly, the importance of the game application is to enhance the probability of consumers' interest to use both SMS/MMS and location base services mobile technologies. Unless customers actually access and use the applications with their devices, mobile technologies are useless. Therefore, if the applications of the mobile technologies are not interesting and fun, it is less likely that the consumers will be using it. By using the game applications as the platform of servicing both SMS/MMS and location base services, it is more likely that the consumers will be interested toward the product through the marketing methods. The major issue to be aware of is the fact that even though Jones Soda is a food product, due to its "hip and urban" image, Jones Soda does not necessarily have to only promote the food aspect of its brand. Jones Soda can associate its brand image with other popular concepts to expand its exposures to the public.
