The "Catching Clark" App & More

My individual client is Clark Marten Photography, a premier photo studio, located in Columbus, Montana (www.clarkmarten.com). The CMP studio is dedicated to bold and artistic prints. They focus on the relationship with their clients before, during, and after the shoots. They passionately push themselves to do better and to be more creative in their respective art form.

3 ways for CMP to utilize mobile technology:

The “Catching Clark” App: Clark and Rachel tour the nation giving talks on Clark’s artistic genius and Rachel’s stellar salesmanship. This app would help fans ‘follow’ them at the conferences, seminars, and sometimes even where they are during local photo shoots. Weekly, Clark would post three hints on where they are. Anyone with the app can guess where the CMP team is and the answer would be revealed later in the week, indicated by a pin in a map. Clicking on the pin would feature a one-of-a-kind snapshot from the week including everything from the people at the conference to a cityscape. Anyone who’s a fan of Clark’s photos will surely want to catch this app!

Interactive iPad App: This app would be like a coffee table book on the iPad and would feature interactive capabilities. This could be the ‘The Classics,’ from early work to present-day and encompassing about 15-20 photos. Clark would describe various shots, some photos would be short videos, and it would include some customer testimonials in the voices that gave them. If this was purchased, an added incentive or an additional app could be a choice of 2-3 smart phone, browser, or e-mail backgrounds (much like those found in g-mail in the labs, themes section).

QR Codes with Info and Sound: QR codes near the scenic and high school senior photos at the displays in Rimrock Mall. The QR code would display the information about the portrait (title, size, price, mobile purchase, and a link to the website). Additionally, the most unique feature would be Clark telling a quick 15- to 30-second fun fact about the photo or a special memory about that particular photo shoot. Of course, this would be all in Clark’s voice, reminiscent of a museum experience. If the person has additional questions, the customer can then text Clark Marten Photography Forum and answers would be posted either there or on the facebook page in the notes section.
