Use of Mobile Technologies for iPod Car Pros:

QR Codes on Packaging: iPod Card Pros (ICP) could really make effective use of QR codes by adding them to product packaging. Many of the items that ship out require very detailed instruction supplements. Many of these installations guides are only available online. Adding QR codes that link to demonstration videos and instructions would be very helpful for tech savvy users. Furthermore, many installers are putting these in at shops or in their driveways where it can be difficult to access the internet via computer. Having the QR codes readily available for mobile phones and tablets would be very helpful to customers.

Texting of Promotions and Coupons: ICP often caters one-time buyers, but they also sell to other small businesses and clients who make continued purchases. Many of these customers are constantly looking for deals or promotions when it comes time to reorder inventories. By sending out regular text messages alerting clients of promotions, ICP can keep their clients up to date and help keep orders moving. These text alerts might also work well for exciting new product updates and enhancements. Texting can be especially effective as more and more people avoid email alerts due to high volumes of spam.

Mobile Applications to Keep Customers in the Loop: ICP could make effective use of mobile applications specific to customer service related items. As mentioned, many customers make continual purchases over time. For these types of clients, it would be helpful to offer an application that would accept payments, track orders, and monitor inventories. The products carried at ICP cater to the tech savvy crowds, so these types of applications would likely be utilized by the clients and customers in the supply chain. The investment required for application development may be out of scope for a smaller business, but as mobile applications grow in popularity, the cost of development will likely decrease rapidly.
