Ways to Utilize Mobile Technology for Stella & Dot

My personal project will be for my wife's newly started Stella and Dot business. Outside of her normal work, she has been putting in a fair amount of time getting this jewelry business off the ground. While Stella and Dot is connected through quite a bit of social media, there are some key ways that my wife could utilize mobile technology to help it out.

The first recommendation is the use of an iPad at her trunk shows. The business mostly works through shows with customers, since purchases can only take place via a stylist, like my wife. Therefore, presentation skills are quite important to help show the jewelry in all its glory. Considering we do not have the resources or desire to hire models to show how the accessories can be worn, we can defer to the iPad. While at the show, we can have one (or more if we can borrow a friend's), iPad to show the video productions from Stella and Dot that show how great the jewelry looks with various other accessories.

The second recommendation is through QR codes. She recently received her business cards, then alas, after reading these articles we are going to see if she can redo them. Putting the code on her card would allow quick reference to her website and quick sharing amongst her clients. This would allow her "quick" message to travel fast and easily.

The third recommendation, which requires the most investment, would be to create an mobile payment app for the business. There currently is not one for Stella and Dot. As I understand it, payments at the shows are quite the time consuming hassle. Not only do we have to pay for the payment slips that have to be filled out by hand, but the process takes considerable time. Time that does not go unnoticed as you trying to fill out these papers with everybody in your party, mostly at the same time. A free app that can be downloaded by customers beforehand, or even while at the party, would streamline the payment and save much time and frustration.
