SOCIAL MEDIA + QR CODES FOR ARITZIA

I have decided to choose Aritzia (A womens clothing retailer based in Canada) as my individual project focus. Aritzia is a chain that sells trendy young women's clothing. Aritzia was founded in the 1980's, and while most of the stores in the chain are located across Canada, the few stores that are located in the US are gaining popularity with the late teen-early twenties fashion conscious consumer. The profile of Aritzia has been raised of late with several young celebrities being spotted in Artizia clothing. I personally subscribe to their Facebook news feeds, and have been observing some possibilities Aritzia could explore to further their reach with social media.

QR Codes:
I feel as if Aritzia might benefit from the use of QR codes in both its product line as well as advertising, as they seem to be missing from Aritzia's marketing campaign. The QR codes could possibly be printed on neckline tags- making it easy for customers to both record possible purchases/make a wish list as well as making the customers walking advertisements once the item of clothing is bought. Anyone who admires the Aritzia shirt/skirt/etc you are wearing could simply ask to scan your neckline tag and be directed to the online store checkout for that item.

Texting:
Although Aritzia utilizes a fairly highly trafficked Facebook page with frequent status updates, the updates feel somewhat disconnected with the individual customer. Frequently, the updates pertain to discounts, events and sales for an entirely different region/store. I think that letting customers opt into a text or fb message notification of sales/events would help get the word out in a more efficient manner.
