Local Superstars Karaoke!

Ozzie’s has unique cause marketing opportunities, due to its long history in the area as well as its status as a top karaoke venue. Also, because of the large space it occupies, it has the capacity to host large groups and organizations. A more interesting question is what organization(s) to partner with and how to creatively promote a partnership.

Any number of Seattle theaters e.g. ACT, Intiman or Seattle Rep would be excellent partners to join with for a karaoke contest. Ozzie’s could act as the venue sponsor and collect donations during the contest, perhaps in a bracket elimination style or in an American Idol type setup.

Another idea could be to have people donate money to pay for their friends to sing. It could be run like an auction. People pay to have their friends sing and if they don’t want to sing the song, they can double the donation to get themselves off the hook.

An interesting twist to this idea could be to have local performers be present and then the folks could pay to hear the pros sing songs as well. It would be a good way to get people who might not usually come to Ozzie’s to check it out and Ozzie’s could also leverage the social network of its non-profit partner to spread the word and reach people that are outside its network, hopefully increasing their own network. Ozzie’s and its partner can use Twitter and Facebook to solicit suggestions for songs performers should sing as well as use YouTube to post videos of them (as well as the general public) singing.
