Ernie's Games & Big Brothers of America

I believe a great partnership would be between Ernie's Games and Big Brothers / Big Sisters of America, a non-profit organization whose mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with mentors that try to have a measurable impact on youth.

Ernie's Game specializes is retailing great games but also focuses on the actual experience and social interaction that ensues from playing such games. To me this seems to be a great fit for Big Brothers. I envision a plan that could incorporate a couple different action items, and one that would be great for taking advantage of social media.

First, whether through a 5% cash of sale towards type of policy, or simply by donating games, Ernie's Games could put resources towards putting games in the hands of children much less fortunate than most. The design would be then that the mentors of these children would play the games and have a positive, creative, and fun social engagement. It is not always easy to connect with children, especially from a mentoring standpoint, and these games could serve as a great ice-breaker and relationship building tool. The idea for social media is that the mentors would be the talkers, as sometimes the kids might be too young to share thoughts online.

Another method would be through a game night at the store for Big Brothers, where multiple mentors and children are invited to the store to participate in game nights. Ernie's Games would supply all the games and help teach everyone how to play. We could advertise through social media these nights and create and open dialogue for all interested parties.

I really believe that the mentor's would be extraordinarily thankful for such support, and from having a remarkable experience in store would help support the store through positive reviews, comments, and other sharing online.
